Video: Jennifer at Hotel (March 2009)

Okay, this is the last one for a little while.  This was taken when we were visiting Peter's parents in Arlington on weekend, helping them get ready to move.  She just LOVED this full length mirror and played there all weekend.

Video: Jennifer's Multiple Steps at a Time

This is a video taken back when Jennifer was first learning to walk.  It was one of the first times that she started walking multiple steps at a time.  You will have to bear with me on the video at one point.  I tilted the camera forgetting that I needed to keep it landscape.

Video: Jennifer Eating Mashed Potatoes

Here is a video of Jennifer eating mashed potatoes.  This has become a regular occurrence for us.  She just loves them!

Video: Jennifer Walking

I have finally figured out this whole video thing.  Here is a video taken this week of Jennifer walking.  More videos to come.

Picture Update

For those of you not on Facebook, I thought I would share some pictures of Jennifer.  She is still a tiny little thing (only in the 5th% for weight and 10% for height).

Things have been extremely busy for me.  I have putting in a lot of extra hours at work, working weekends and evenings from home.  I am trying my best to make sure that I am home for a couple of hours before Jennifer goes to bed each night.  I am hoping that the busy-ness will subside at the end of August.

Peter is still home with Jennifer each day.  He is looking into working part time with a local sound company.  I will keep you posted as to how that turns out.

Jennifer is now walking about 80% of the time and doesn't want to be fed any more.  She is growing more independence now and trying to use utensils on a regular basis.  She has also starting talking more and is regularly using the words juice (her cup regardless of what is in it) and da-da.  Ma-ma is coming along.  In addition to getting a kick out of the cats when they are near by, she also gets excited when she sees dogs on TV, even the cartoon dog on Curious George.

Christmas Pictures

Here are some pictures from Christmas.

All the things she does

So it has been a while since I have posted.  Jennifer is able to do so many things now.  I thought I would share with you all a few of these things.  She can now:

  • Crawl
  • Cruise along the couch
  • Walk with her ride-on plane and stroller
  • Feed herself meals (her favorites are baby ravioli, peas, and cheese)
  • Drink from a sippy cup (we are almost done with bottles)
  • Climb one or two steps
  • Stand on her own for about 30 seconds, or until she decides that she needs to sit down
  • Climb on the own dishwasher door
  • Understand the words bunny, kitty kat, and daddy
  • Sign "night-night" and "all done"
It's hard to believe that her first birthday is just around the corner.  One thing I have realized as a parent is that birthdays take on a whole new meaning now.  They truly are a celebration of life, not just another day of the year where you get presents and to feel special.  I no longer mind hearing stories about when I was born or when I was a child, because I hope to share those stories with Jennifer when she gets older.
